La pollution plastique n&#8217;est pas seulement un probl\u00e8me environnemental, mais aussi un probl\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 publique croissant. L&#8217;\u00e9volution des modes de consommation a entra\u00een\u00e9 une augmentation des d\u00e9chets plastiques, qui atteignent respectivement 538 kg par jour \u00e0 Banda et 958 kg par jour \u00e0 Lease. Les d\u00e9charges deviennent des foyers de maladies et l&#8217;incin\u00e9ration des d\u00e9chets lib\u00e8re des polluants atmosph\u00e9riques nocifs qui affectent la sant\u00e9 de la communaut\u00e9. Seuls 29 % environ de ces d\u00e9chets sont collect\u00e9s, et encore sont-ils souvent mal g\u00e9r\u00e9s. Environ 35 % s&#8217;\u00e9chappent dans l&#8217;environnement, ce qui constitue une menace s\u00e9rieuse pour la durabilit\u00e9 des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes marins et le bien-\u00eatre de l&#8217;homme.     <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le projet collabore avec les services de gestion des d\u00e9chets des villages des \u00eeles afin d&#8217;\u00e9tendre et d&#8217;am\u00e9liorer les services de collecte des d\u00e9chets.
